    Journey Dress Hack

Spring has officially sprung and I’m heading to Scottsdale this week for spring break with the family. I wanted to make a cute dress that I could use as a swim cover as well for by the pool. My goal was something loose fitting with some sort of fun detail. I have been admiring the Journey Romper pattern from Striped Swallow Designs for a while as I love the open back option with the wrap. This was just the sort of fun detail I was looking for so I decided to mash the Journey into a dress. There are so many fun views in the Journey Romper pattern I couldn’t…

    Sewing with Velvet

I fell madly in love with Surge Fabric‘s collection of stretch velvet and had to have them all! (If you use my link and sign up for a rewards account you can get 10% off your first order) I knew right away that I wanted to make the new Hideaway top from Striped Swallow Designs with my Romance velvet. I decided to experiment with mashing it with the Driftwood Hoodie. My goal was to keep the fitted bodice of the Boheme Sky and then attach the Driftwood hood with the front cowl. I’ve been slowly working my way through my fabric stash, due to a ban imposed by a husband who doesn’t understand there is really no such thing as too…

    Harbor Knot Tee Review

One of my favorite pattern designers is Striped Swallow Designs so I jumped on the opportunity to test the new Harbor Knot Tee. As usual Mandalynn did not disappoint! The Harbor Knot instantly became my favorite shirt for the spring. The fun knot detail makes it such a flattering silhouette as it drapes nicely in the front and is slightly fitted in the back. The pattern was just released today and is currently on sale for $2 off now through Friday at 11:59PM CST. (Use coupon code harborknot) There is a children’s version coming soon too! Pattern Details: Difficulty: This is a great beginner pattern, it takes longer to cut…
