    Lace Lulu Dolman

If there is one thing in life I love it is dolman style sweaters, if there is a second thing in life I love it is lace! So of course the best would be to combine them both which is exactly what I did for this super easy lace color block hack of the brand new Lulu Dolman from Petite Stitchery. Petite Stitchery is having an awesome sale for Black Friday! See the details below. I used an olive rayon spandex french terry and silver eyelash lace for my top, both of which are available at Surge Fabric Shop. (If you register for a rewards account with my link you…

    Sewing with Velvet

I fell madly in love with Surge Fabric‘s collection of stretch velvet and had to have them all! (If you use my link and sign up for a rewards account you can get 10% off your first order) I knew right away that I wanted to make the new Hideaway top from Striped Swallow Designs with my Romance velvet. It was the perfect pattern for the velvet. I paired my Hideaway with a pair of Moto Skinnies from Laela Jeyne Patterns. This was my first time sewing “real” pants, instead of leggings and joggers. I really enjoyed all the detail involved with making the flat felled seams. I can’t wait…

    Split Sleeve Dolman

Fall has officially arrived here which means pumpkin spice everything! I am one of the few that is not a fan of pumpkin spice in my coffee, or oatmeal, or muffins, or whatever else they have decided to make this year. However, there is one pumpkin spice I can’t get enough of. The Pumpkin Spice Dolman by Patterns for Pirates. It is by far my favorite sewing pattern and makes up the majority of my winter wardrobe. In fact, I have so many PSDs that I decided recently that I need to “spice things up” so to speak. I saw someone at the grocery store with a split sleeved dolman…

    Boheme Drift

Today is the last day of Mashup March for Striped Swallow Designs. I have enjoyed seeing everyone’s creative and gorgeous creations. For my #ssdmashupmarch creation I knew I wanted to try something with the Boheme Sky as I have loved the pattern for a while but hadn’t bought it yet. I decided to experiment with mashing it with the Driftwood Hoodie. My goal was to keep the fitted bodice of the Boheme Sky and then attach the Driftwood hood with the front cowl. I’ve been slowly working my way through my fabric stash, due to a ban imposed by a husband who doesn’t understand there is really no such thing as too…

    The Summer Dress

The weather here has been unseasonably warm the last couple weeks which has had me thinking ahead to summer. I love wearing dresses all summer long. Most of the everyday dresses I have made so far have been maxi dresses so when I saw someone posted a picture of a short sleeveless raglan dress the other day I figured I would mix it up and try it out. I’ve been hoarding some gorgeous Iva brushed poly from Knitpop and decided it was the perfect fabric for this dress. I am obsessed with all things floral right now and just love how summery this print feels. In case you haven’t figured it…
